The “Observatory and Canopy Walk” project in Székelyudvarhely, located in the Cserehát district, aims to create a modern recreational and educational park, based on an observatory that once operated under the dark sky and which today can be visited in the form of a canopy walkway and educational trail.

The observatory building dates back to the 1990s, but it was never fully used for its original purpose.

The canopy walk functions as an educational trail, featuring information boards that help visitors learn about plants, animals, and the environment.

As part of the project, playgrounds, rest areas, a viewing platform, and a metal walkway running along the hillside are being built, offering beautiful views of the town and its surroundings.

By September 2025, the playground and parts of the canopy walk had already become accessible, while the official inauguration of the observatory building is still in progress.
